Nutrition and everyday use

Tofu is a soy-based food that can be one of several protein foods in a varied diet. Its composition depends on the product and preparation; a single nutrient value cannot describe every tofu.

Choosing and preparing

Choose refrigerated packs that are not swollen or leaking. Drain and slice to suit the dish: thicker pieces hold their shape in stews.

Storage and cooking

After opening, refrigerate according to the package directions. Use in kimchi jjigae or doenjang jjigae. Check ingredients if you have a soy allergy; processed products may contain wheat or other ingredients.
